Some Newcastle United fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to speculation linking the club with Manchester United loanee Odion Ighalo.

According to Sky Sports, Newcastle are interested in signing Ighalo, who is on loan at United from Chinese Super League club Shanghai Greenland Shenhua at the moment.

The former Watford striker switched to the Red Devils on loan in the January transfer window and is scheduled to stay there until the end of the season.

Sky Sports have claimed Newcastle are interested in landing the Nigerian on a permanent contract if if the proposed takeover by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund goes through.

Football in England is suspended at then moment, and it remains to be seen if and when the summer transfer window opens.

Ighalo has played 61 minutes in the Premier League, and has scored two goals and provided one assist in three Europa League games for United so far this season, according to WhoScored.
