Simon Appiah’s corset gives Liberty pros a win against the Grand Games

Young Simon Appiah clinched a double for Liberty Professionals on Sunday when they beat the Accra Grand Olympics 2-0 at the Ibrahim Sly Tetteh park ion Dansoman.

The victory gives the Liberty pros their first win of the 2020/21 season.

Midway through the first half, Abraham Wayo sent a cross that was perfectly received by Simon Appiah to give Liberty the lead.

The Grand Olympics were reduced to ten men before halftime after Abbey Quaye was shown marching orders for an offense on winger Abraham Wayo.

The Liberty Professionals were given a scare within minutes of the second half after Maxwell Ansah deflected Mudasuri’s effort at the Olympics.

The home team made two quick changes with 20 minutes to go, George Ansong replaced Godfred Atuahene and Mubashar Issah replaced Stanley Anigyei.

The change was vital when Liberty scored the second goal of the day through Simon Appiah, to score his second of the game.

Liberty endured a frenzied endgame to claim their first win of the season with a comfortable win at Carl Reindorf Park.
