Arsenal head coach Mike Arteta has been compared to a teacher by defender Shkodran Mustafi!
Shkodran Mustafi says Mikel Arteta has all Arsenal team members “on board” and believes the club is destined for greatness under the guidance of its former player.
The German defender has been reflecting on the impact Arteta has had on the club since he joined in December.
“He’s kind of like a teacher,” says Mustafi Sky Sports News.
“He knows exactly where he wants the players to be when they are on the ball and how to react when he loses it. It is very special.”

“When I pass, I’m generally just focused on where to be if we lose the ball, but he wants me to contribute offensively as well. So we constantly have to make a choice for the player on the ball.”
“When you are 28 years old and you play in different countries with other coaches, you think you know everything, but he came in and there are things he has never known before.”
Mustafi says Arteta’s appointment has been beneficial to Ozil’s stay at Arsenal
When asked about his teammate Mesut Ozil, Mustafi believes that Arteta has brought the entire team together.
“Sometimes we don’t realize how difficult the job is,” he says. “Out of 25 players, maybe 20 agree with the coach and five still think we should play differently.”
Arteta has won eight of 15 games as Arsenal’s head coach, taking the team to ninth place in the Premier League table and in the FA Cup quarterfinals.
“Since Mikel entered he has 25 players on board and this is not easy to achieve.”
“Everyone understands and everything he says makes sense. There is nothing to complain about. Everyone has benefited, even Mesut.”
Arteta tested positive for coronavirus in March, leading to the postponement of Premier League matches.
“It was a shock,” says Mustafi. “At first nobody knew much about it.

“You don’t want him to be in poor health, but after all this, we were in contact with Zoom.”
Although Mustafi has not played in the Bundesliga, all eyes will be on Germany this weekend when football returns there before a similar plan in England.
“There is a lot of talk and talk about this, but I am eager to play,” he says.
“Germany has done very well with the situation. So they can start playing, but it is very difficult to explain what I think.”
“I don’t know the difference between Germany and England. Some think it’s good, some don’t. For me, the main thing is that we have to think about security.”
