Elmina Sharks public relations officer Sedinam Nyamordey has revealed to Happy Sports that her first league match against Ebusua Dwarfs will take place as scheduled despite the team registering cases of coronavirus.
Elmina Sharks announced on her social media account that some of her players tested positive for the coronavirus.
“We can confirm that some of our players have tested positive for COVID 19. Since then they have been isolated and responding to treatment. We wish them the best and hope they will join us stronger, ”the statement said.
In an interview on Happy Weekend Sports with Joe Debrah on Happy 98.9FM, Sedinam Nyarmodey said that players who tested positive are asymptotic.
“Some of our players have tested positive for Covid-19 but are not showing any symptoms. They have been in isolation and are receiving treatment at this time. They will be out for 14 days according to COVID-19 protocols ”.
“I can also confirm to Happy Sports that the GFA has given us the go-ahead to honor our game against Ebusua Dwarfs.”
On preparations before the game against the Dwarves, he said: “In the game, we have not beaten the Dwarfs at Cape Coast Sports Stadium. The last time we met them we won the match by a single goal at Nduom Sports Stadium. Since they are planning revenge, we are also preparing for a rerun. “
