President Nana Akufo-Addo says that seven districts in the Upper East region will benefit from the government’s Agenda 111 in the next 12 months.
The agenda will see 88 districts in need obtain district hospitals as part of the government’s efforts to provide quality healthcare by ensuring that each district has a beneficiary hospital to serve the health needs of the people.
President Akufo-Addo revealed this in Bolgatanga when he addressed the Upper East Region Chamber of Chiefs during his two-day tour of the region.
He pointed out that Nduri, Bulisa South, Kassena Nanakena West, Tempane, Nabdam, Pusiga and Bolgatanga East are the districts prepared to get new hospitals.
“The hospitals will have a capacity of 100 beds fully equipped with adequate accommodation for medical personnel,” he said.
President Akufo-Addo also stated that a total of 1,488 projects are being executed in the region and are in various stages of execution.
Therefore, he appealed to the people of the region to vote en masse for the party in turn.
He noted that 688 projects had been completed and the remaining 800 were ongoing.
Of the 688, 94 are in the education sector, 20 in the health sector, 13 in the road sector and 269 in the water and sanitation sector.
The president also made a special mention of the Bolgatanga-Bawku highway “which has been the subject of many broken promises.”
But he said the path “is now being visibly approached and will soon be finished.”
50 km of the 96.5 km road have been completed and are “in first class condition”.
The rest “is scheduled to be completed in December,” said President Akufo-Addo.
