Sergio Ramos’ handball, which was never at Eibar last night, has caused a stir on social networks.
Real Madrid beat the Basque team 3-1, with the ball hitting Ramos’s hand at the last minute only for the VAR to rule it was not a penalty.
One of the harshest critics of the decision was Cristóbal Soria, a well-known Spanish soccer television personality best known for his role in El Chiringuito.
He uploaded a video online to express his outrage at the decision with his comments carried by Mundo Deportivo.
“I ask the 19 presidents of the league to come together and put an end to the continuous refereeing decisions that favor Real Madrid game after game after game.”
Ramos, from Seville like Soria, was quick to respond to the plea, calling Soria a “baby” before saying she needed to take medication for children and expressing how amusing she found the whole situation.
The victory means that Los Blancos are now second in the table and tied on points with league leaders Atlético de Madrid, albeit with two more games played.
They have worn a different team since Ramos returned from injury against Borussia Monchengladbach. Along with fellow veteran Toni Kroos, Luka Modric and Karim Benzema, the Andalusian is playing a key role in guiding his team on a losing streak.
