Sergio Ramos, out of trip to Vigo as a precaution – Ghana soccer latest news, live scores, results

Sergio Ramos has not been called up by Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane for the club’s trip to Celta de Vigo on Saturday.

With Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals, Ramos’ fitness is key after missing just over a month of action earlier in the year.

During the Champions League match against Atalanta on Wednesday, Ramos had to be removed shortly after the hour after a blow to the left tibia, so he will not travel to Vigo as a precaution.

On Friday he did participate in the first part of training, although Zidane does not want to expose Ramos to a possible relapse of injury with the Liverpool game just around the corner, and not facing Celta puts in doubt whether he will be available for Spain.

Spain’s first game in the next international break is on March 25, giving the Real Madrid captain plenty of time to recover.

Real Madrid will face Celta

Midfielders: Kroos, Modri, Casemiro, Valverde, Isco.
