Amid stalled negotiations with Real Madrid over a new contract, Sergio Ramos has made a 180 degree turn and now he will not speak to the media from the Spanish camp in Seville on Monday.
Ramos fears that Real Madrid’s talk will distract from Spain’s preparations
As part of a press conference in the run-up to Spain’s UEFA Nations League game against Germany on Tuesday, National captain Ramos was expected to discuss ongoing talks on his agreement with Madrid, which expires at the end of the season.
However, the 34-year-old has now decided not to face the press. for fear that the press conference will focus only on his contract with Madrid and it would distract attention from what is a Nations League clash for La Roja.
After drawing with Switzerland on Saturday, a game in which Ramos missed two penalties, Spain now needs to beat the Germans at the La Cartuja Stadium to qualify for the final of the Nations League.

Real Madrid is not willing to comply with Ramos’ contractual requirements
Negotiations between club captain Ramos and Madrid are currently stalled, with the player asking for a two-year extension and Los Blancos only willing to offer a one-year contract with an optional additional 12 months.
The defender will be able to speak with clubs outside of Spain from January 1 if an agreement has not been reached by then.
