Spain took on Germany at La Cartuja in Seville on Tuesday night with the winner guaranteed a spot in the four finalists of the Nations League.

However, not everything was positive for Luis Enrique’s side. Sergio Canales was forced to retire in the first ten minutes with a suspected hamstring injury before captain Sergio Ramos joined him in the treatment room two minutes before half-time.

The injury is bad news for Spain and for its club, Real Madrid. Ramos is currently in the middle of contract negotiations with Los Blancos.
Ramos wants a two-year contract, while Madrid, due to his age, is only willing to offer him a one-year contract with a possible second year if certain variables are met. A muscle injury like this will not help you.
