Sammy Gyamfi, a national communications officer for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has saluted President Akufo-Addo saying his obsession with the name Mahama can no longer be discounted.
In a statement, the young politician expressed his concern about why the president would ask the Catholic Episcopal Conference to condemn Mr. Mahama for having shared with the latter an article written by Bolgatanga’s central deputy, Isaac Adongo, who described the agreement. of Agyapa royalties as a deal hatched by ‘Akyem Sakawa Mafias’.
The president complained to the Catholic bishops at a meeting at the Jubilee House after Mahama shared an article by legislator Isaac Adongo that used the label “Akyem Sakawa Boys” for some people in government.
“Archbishop, these insults seem to be a feature of Ghanaian public life. But sometimes when things come up, we expect you to comment on them. The comment made by my opponent, “Akyem Sakawa people”, I have not heard any public figure, independent person, yourselves, comment on it. It is completely unacceptable. If I got up to comment on the Northerners or the Gonjas, you can imagine what an uproar there would be in the country.
“Presidential candidate, a former president of Ghana, you can call a group of Ghanaians” Sakawa people “, and it involves the group for which the acting president is coming, and that statement has no comment, and at the same time we hear all these statements Let everyone try to end the policy of insults, ”added the president.
But the NDC executive says the president has no right to complain.
“Can President Akufo Addo remind himself of his description of” ECOWAS citizens “in reference to a particular ethnic group and the deliberate misuse by state security agencies against that ethnic group during the recent registration exercise? Was he not in this country when the NPP Adansi-Asokwa MP KT Hammond described the sheep as Togolese.
So President Akufo Addo has not become aware of the state-sponsored ethnocentric harassment against sheep and Northerners in Banda, Ketu South, Ahafo Ano North, among others, during the recent voter registration exercise?

In the video below, President Akufo-Addo is asking the Conference of Catholic Bishops to condemn what exactly is it? So is President Akufo Addo really on the lookout for political coups on social media, while pretending not to see or hear about any of the state-sponsored acts that have threatened and continue to threaten the peace and cohesion of this country?
It is now obvious that President Akufo Addo and the PNP’s obsession with the name “Mahama” can no longer be discounted. In fact, for those who had time to count, President Mahama’s name is said to have received more than 1000 mentions during the recent launch of the NPP manifesto, far more than any political proposal the NPP presented to the people of Ghana.
In fact, President Akufo Addo’s incessant references to the name “Mahama” in almost all his public appearances confirm that the central focus of this year’s PNP campaign is President Mahama and nothing else. But suffice it to also say that this campaign based on a “Mahama phobia” is unraveling.

Can President Akufo Addo remind himself of his description of “ECOWAS citizens” in reference to a particular ethnic group and the deliberate misuse by state security agencies against that ethnic group during the recent registration exercise? voters? So has President Akufo Addo not heard of the state-sponsored ethnocentric harassment of sheep and Northerners in Banda, Ketu Sur, Ahafo Ano Norte, among others, during the recent voter registration exercise?
Once again, has President Akufo Addo forgotten his description of the blessedly remembered President Mills as “The Professor recently,” as well as his recent description of his critics as “detractors” and “political Jeremiah”?
Until President Akufo-Addo rises above pettiness to address these critical issues that actually border on Ghana’s peace and cohesion, I would regard his comments in the attached video as one more joke of his own. Let me remind you that the 2020 elections are about rescuing this country from its bad government and divisive government and not about indulging its pettiness and frustrations.
