Samini backs Akufo-Addo ahead of 2020 elections

Dancehall artist Samini has revealed that he will vote for President Akufo-Addo to retain power in 2021.

The ‘My Own’ hitmaker took to Twitter to announce his support for President Akuffo-Addo’s candidacy to be elected to a second term on December 7.

Samini wrote in his post that he was choosing to vote for a leader who he believes has a “hopeful” future for the country.

“These are challenging times for the world. My Voice, My Vote will support leadership that has empathy and serves to create a hopeful future for the next generation. “

Samini also shared a photo of some school children under President Akufo-Addo that references the government’s Free SHS policy.

Samini is not the only celebrity to declare support for a political party ahead of the 2020 general election.

Dancehall artist Shatta Wale has on numerous occasions praised the work the government has done in its four in power.

He follows his eulogy with a call for Ghanaians to retain President Akufo-Addo so that he can continue his work.

Gospel singer Empress Gifty has also been seen campaigning for the PNP alongside her husband, Hopeson Adorye, the PNP parliamentary candidate for Kpong Katamanso.

Rex Omar and MzBel have also expressed their support for the opposition NDC party.
