Ryan Giggs has admitted that he had several consequences with Sir Alex Ferguson during their time together at Man Utd.
The former United winger was often seen as one of Ferguson’s golden boys, having broken into the early side of the Scot’s management.
Giggs played with Fergie for 23 years, even beating his legendary boss for a season before hanging up his boots.
But it wasn’t always easy to navigate between them, and Giggs revealed that he felt Ferguson’s anger on several occasions.
“I fought him a lot of times,” Giggs told beIN Sports’ The Champions Club. “I mean the number of times I would say about my career, 6 or 7 times that it was a couple of weeks of salary, I was fined for answering, for having an argument.

“At the time, it’s not very pleasant, you’re in the locker room, you’ve just been beaten, or you’ve had a bad performance. And I couldn’t help coming back.”
Ferguson became famous for the famous ‘hair dryer treatment’ that he gave his underperforming stars whenever they slipped below expectations.
Giggs explained how only four players would avoid Fergie’s verbal dissimulation: Eric Cantona, Roy Keane, Bryan Robson and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Sadly for Giggs, he wasn’t that lucky, but it didn’t have much of an adverse effect on his relationship with Ferguson.
“Actually, later in his career, he said he liked that, it meant you cared,” added Giggs.
“He would still be fine for two weeks because he wanted to show he was in charge, but he actually liked it, as long as he didn’t cross the line, of course.”
“The good thing is that the next day it was finished. I would fine you with 2 weeks of salary, the salary of one week. The next day I got you and everything was finished, let’s continue.”
