The Anglican bishop of the diocese of Koforidua, the Rev. Felix Odei Annancy, says that the country’s rural areas should not be left out of the distribution of the national cake.

Speaking on the sidelines of a church service to bring the St. Peter’s Anglican church congregation into the New Year, Bishop Annancy told Joy News that some parts of the country have not been treated fairly by governments past and present. .

He noted: “There are so many villages without clean water and without good roads. Our politicians must ensure that they can develop the country properly. They need to make sure the national cake is shared equally so that those areas feel like part of Ghana. “

The Reverend Felix Odei Annancy was emphatic that the teachings and life of Christ should serve as an example to all to ensure peace and stability in the country.

“Politicians must ensure that there is peace in this country. Most of us are Christians, politicians are also Christians. They must ensure that the teachings of Christ remain in them so that they can ensure that there is peace in this country, ”he said.

God will hold them responsible if there is any disturbance, violence that destroys property and lives, he said.

“They should know that they have been put in leadership positions to serve God’s people,” he added.

He believes that if Christ is placed at the center of the nation, corruption will be a thing of the past.

The Rev. Felix Odei Annancy wished all Ghanaians a Happy New Year and prayed for God’s blessings on the country.
