Can you imagine what it would be like to see peak Ronaldo Nazario and Cristiano Ronaldo on the same team, together? The Brazilian on top, the Portuguese on the left. It’s a shame we’ll never see him in person.
If it’s any consolation, the two former Real Madrid superstars made it to France Football’s Balon D’or XI.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Ronaldo Nazário has claimed his place in France Football’s Ballon d’Or Dream Team. The forwards got places in the lineup voted by the usual Ballon d’Or panel (170 experts from around the world). Along with Cristiano, who takes his place on the left wing, and center forward Ronaldo, are Yashin, Cafu, Beckenbauer, Maldini, Matthäus, Xavi, Pelé, Maradona and Messi.
Real Madrid’s all-time top scorer (451 goals), Cristiano Ronaldo played 438 times for the club between 2009 and 2018. During his nine seasons, he lifted 16 silver pieces (four European Cups, three Club World Cups and Super Cups of the UEFA each, a couple of Leagues, two Copas del Rey and two Spanish Super Cups). Meanwhile, Ronaldo was playing for Real Madrid between 2002 and 2007. The Brazilian leader scored 104 goals in 177 starts and secured an Intercontinental Cup crown, two Leagues and a Spanish Super Cup.
Other former / current Real Madrid players who were nominated – Sergio Ramos, Iker Casillas, Marcelo, Roberto Carlos, Fabio Cannavaro, Ferenc Puskas, Alfredo di Stefano – were left out of the starting lineup.
