President Akufo-Addo has announced the end of the dual track system for all SHS 1 and SHS 3 students nationwide.
According to him, the government has expanded the infrastructure to accommodate all students.
Akufo-Addo, who spoke in her 21st COVID-19 update on Sunday, January 3, 2020, said: “All SHS 1 students will start classes starting March 10 with all students on a single track. However, the students of SHS 2 and 3 will do it, back to classes from January 18. Students of SHS 3 as SHS 1 will stop running the double track system. The expansion of the infrastructure has led us to this situation favorable ”.
This means that only SHS 2 students will be on the two-way system when they reopen.
Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo has also confirmed the reopening of schools for kindergarten, primary and secondary students which will be on January 15, 2021 for both private and public schools.
“Our children must go to school … we are satisfied that under the current circumstances the reopening of our schools is safe … Prior to reopening, all private and public institutions and fumigated,” he added.
