The Commander of the Ghana Police Service for the Accra region, DCOP Afful Boakye-Yiadom, has urged police personnel across the country to reduce their sexual activities in the run-up to this year’s general elections.

This, according to him, will give service members the necessary energy to undertake their activities around the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections.

“Control yourself, we all need the energy to work during the elections myself, so I advise everyone to eat well, reduce their sexual rounds so that they have the energy to work well before, during and after the 2020 elections.”

He spoke after a road march organized by the Police service to assure the public of his readiness for the elections.

The director general in charge of operations for the Ghana Police Service, DCOP, Kwaku Boadu-Peprah, also warned police personnel to desist from participating in partisan political activities in the run-up to the 2020 general election.

“As a police officer, you are not supposed to get involved in any political activity. You can only do that when you enter the voting booth, there you can exercise your power ”.

“When the moment of the elections comes, we will simply go out to do our duty and in the end who comes to power is not our business, we support the government in power,” he added.
