Casemiro’s goal was his fourth for Real Madrid this season and his third in six games.
Goals from Casemiro and Karim Benzema gave Real Madrid a victory over Granada to level them on points with leader Atlético de Madrid at the top of the League.
After a bad first half, Real went ahead when Casemiro headed after Marco Asensio’s cross from the left.
Benzema sealed the victory in second-half stoppage time with a 20-yard low shot for his eighth La Liga goal of the season.
Granada’s best chance fell to Antonio Puertas, but it shot up from the start.
That opportunity came after just 28 seconds when, after Real Madrid had kicked, Raphael Varane lost possession and former Tottenham striker Roberto Soldado mounted Puertas, but, without scoring, he fired squandering.
The only negative for Zinedine Zidane’s Real Madrid was an injury to Rodrygo in the first half that caused the 19-year-old Brazilian winger to be carried on a stretcher due to a hamstring injury.
This was their sixth consecutive victory in all competitions and the fifth in a row in La Liga to join the Atlético leader with 32 points, although Real have played two more games than their city rivals.
