The 34-year-old left before the rest of the League of Nations in his country, and Madrid will face some big games in the coming weeks.
Real Madrid suffered a possible injury when Sergio Ramos withdrew from Spain’s Nations League clash with Germany on Tuesday.
The defender left before the break and appeared to gesture towards the back of his right thigh as he reached the touchline.
Spain was already 3-0 up when Ramos walked away after goals from Álvaro Morata, Ferran Torres and Rodri, and Torres scored a hat-trick as Spain scored an impressive 6-0 victory.
After the game, Spanish coach Luis Enrique was optimistic that Ramos would not suffer a serious injury.

“We do not believe that the injuries are too serious or important,” said Luis Enrique in his post-match press conference. “But it’s still an unpleasant moment for everyone. I feel bad for their clubs, but they are.”
Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane hopes that Ramos’ retirement was a precaution, as his team enjoys a healthy lead as the Spanish champions have several important games ahead of them.
They return from the international break with a trip to second-placed Villarreal on Saturday, knowing that a victory could take them one point from the top leaders, Real Sociedad, at the top of the table.
League clashes with Deportivo Alavés and Sevilla are also approaching, while Madrid has work to do in the Champions League.
Halfway through the group stage, they are third in Group B, albeit just one point behind leader Borussia Monchengladbach. Madrid play Inter and Shakhtar Donetsk away from home before finishing the group stage against Gladbach at their temporary European home, the Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium.
Immediately after that match there is a derby with Atlético de Madrid.
Ramos has been in the headlines in recent weeks, with some personal milestones achieved and a lot of paper talking about his future at Madrid.
He recently scored his 100th goal for Real Madrid, before becoming the most capped player in European international history by surpassing the benchmark previously set by Gianluigi Buffon.
It has also been speculated that Ramos’ stage at Madrid could be coming to an end. Paris Saint-Germain has been linked to a movement, but objective understands that PSG’s priority is to tie the star duo Neymar and Kylian Mbappé to new contracts.
Ramos is out of contract at the end of the season, but Zidane has said he has no doubts that the defender will sign a new contract at the Santiago Bernabéu.
“I have no doubt that he will stay,” Zidane said at a press conference. “He is our leader and of course we will love him forever.”
