Real Madrid are planning a move to sign Bayern Munich star David Alaba as a free agent next summer, as highlighted on the cover of Thursday’s Marca.

It is claimed that Alaba will not sign a contract extension at the European champion and will be available as a free agent, while he has always intended to play for Madrid during his career.

Furthermore, no deal is reported to be related to the future of Madrid club captain Sergio Ramos, who is also out of contract this coming summer.

A report in Diario AS follows that Alaba’s representative, Pini Zahavi, has contacted Los Blancos to discuss the future of his client, who is out of contract with the German giants in the summer of 2021.

The Austrian international’s father is said to have previously contacted Madrid to indicate his son’s willingness to play for them, while this time it is their agent Zahavi.

Zahavi is said to be eager to strengthen his personal ties with Europe’s biggest clubs and believes that negotiating this deal would be a huge boost to his own profile.

The Austrian is highly sought after due to his versatility between defense and midfield, with Bayern deploying him on the left back and central midfield as of late.

Born in Vienna to a Nigerian father and a Philippine mother, Alaba went through Bayern’s youth system after he was robbed from Rapid Vienna at age 16.

Aside from a brief stint on loan with Hoffenheim, they have been the club where he has spent his entire professional career, accumulating just 400 first-team appearances.
