Frank Lampard maintains faith that Kai Havertz will come for Chelsea
According to Sky Sports, Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has asked for patience with star midfielder Kai Havertz.
The German ace was our biggest signing of the summer in terms of value. However, he has failed to show the “something special” expected of such players.
“We have to be patient, especially with any young player who plays at Premier League speed.”
It does not mean that it has not had its moments of brilliance. However, the inability to turn it into consistent results has been a problem.
The 21-year-old has not had it easy off the court either. In fact, he missed three games in November after testing positive for coronavirus.
Now back in contention, he has started our last four games. However, Havertz failed to impress and was eliminated in our 1-0 draw against Everton at the weekend.
“We should be patient with Havertz from a Chelsea winger because he is a top-notch talent that has come to this league.”
In the modern era, it’s hard to escape criticism every time the team loses a game. Lampard believes Havertz will take time to adjust to the speed of the Premier League.
It is never easy for a young player to come to a new country and start working. While Havertz may not have ignited the league, he hasn’t been impressive at all.
A versatile player capable of playing in a variety of positions will give Lampard and the club different options for years to come.
Lampard is right to defend patience with the 21-year-old. He has the best years of his career ahead of him and it should be a sight to behold once it gets underway.

To his credit, Havertz is also aware that he has yet to start his career at Chelsea. However, he is ready to do whatever it takes and is willing to play where it is needed.
With an attitude like that, it’s no wonder Lampard thinks it’s only a matter of time before he recovers.
