Real Madrid – La Liga They are producing their best XI
FRance Football is trying to bring together the best XI of the best players in the world, and Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos finds himself in the mix as one of the best center-backs of all time.
The Spaniard, who is the only active player on the center-back list, competes with Franco Baresi, Franz Beckenbauer, Fabio Cannavaro, Marcel Desailly, Ronald Koeman, Bobby Moore, Daniel Passarella, Matthias Sammer and Gaetano Scirea.
The winner will be decided through a vote on the France Football website, as they look to finish their Ballon d’Or Dream Team. The truth is that Ramos starts as a favorite in the center-back position.
France Football, following Ramos’ excellent performance in Real Madrid’s 3-1 El Clásico victory at the Camp Nou on Saturday afternoon, has asked directly if the 34-year-old does not deserve this accolade.
In fact, they have taken a poll asking if “Ramos should already be considered the best center back of all time.” At the moment, he is in the lead with 60 percent of the vote.
When talking about Ramos, France Football points out not only his qualities, but also the way he impacts his teams (i.e. Real Madrid and Spain).
“The impression that emerges is that a defender has never had a similar impact on the teams he plays for,” they wrote.
“And this is true in both areas, which perhaps makes him unique compared to his predecessors. Teams have two very different faces: one winning and competing when he is there, the other less composed and ambitious when he is not.” .
France Football has decided not to award this year’s Ballon d’Or as a result of the impact the coronavirus had on the 2019/20 campaign, but will instead launch an all-time best XI from the list of players who have already been put online.
The XI will be in a 3-4-3 formation and the winners will be chosen by 170 representatives in December, thus forming the best line-up in history.
