To say that Eden Hazard has had problems at Real Madrid is an understatement.
He arrived in Spain 16 months ago after establishing himself as one of the best players in the world at Chelsea.
In fact, many would say that the Belgian was only behind players like Neymar, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi in quality.
But it just didn’t happen to him at the Bernabéu.
Hazard has been plagued with injuries, sustaining a minor broken foot and a fractured fibula in his first season.
Just because of those two problems, he missed 20 games with Real Madrid between December 2019 and May 2020.
On top of that, the forward has also suffered hamstring and ankle injuries, while a series of blows have kept him out of recent matches.
In total, he has missed 35 games with Los Blancos and has only appeared on the field 22 times.
Given his horrific start to life at Madrid, no one would be surprised if Hazard’s transfer value had fallen.
But not only was that done … he absolutely collapsed.
According to transfermarkt, Hazard’s current market value is just € 60 million. When he left Chelsea in 2019, he was worth € 150 million.
That’s a 90 million euro drop in less than a year and a half. Brutal.
You also have to feel for Hazard. It just hasn’t worked at Real Madrid.
Sure, he has plenty of time to turn it around and we hope he is the galactic who can inspire La Liga champions to more glory.
Zinedine Zidane will be desperate to get his forward back after the international break, but his current injury will keep him out until November at the earliest.
When he returns, Hazard needs to stay fit and healthy. Hopefully, then, you can finally find some way.
