Davis Opoku Ansah (OPK), parliamentary candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Mpraeso constituency, has asked constituency members to re-elect President Akufo-Addo to continue his ‘massive’ infrastructure advances in education and other sectors of the economy.
The NPP parliamentary candidate said the current government had made progress in educational policy and infrastructure, and said that a policy like Free Senior High School (SHS) had more than 1.2 million students benefited.
Mr. Opoku, popularly known as OPK, made these remarks at the inauguration of the party’s campaign team and working committees in Asakraka in the constituency.
He said the government, in addition to implementing its flagship Free SHS, had also built infrastructure, including school buildings, to support the program in all SHSs in the country. He referred to the ruling party’s achievement in absorbing the examination fees of all junior and high school candidates, sitting in the BECE and WASSCE respectively. “As a mother or father, what these monies mean to you is that they have given you additional money for your business and maintenance.”
He said the Akufo-Addo-led government had also paid off the National Health Insurance Plan debt it incurred and made the plan highly operational.
“When this government came to power, the National Health Insurance Regime was heavily in debt, where the service providers were in debt because the government couldn’t pay them. However, since this government took power, we have paid all the debts.” , said. said.
Mr. Opoku advised the campaign team and the inaugurated task forces to work hard for victory, adding that the party’s goal of winning 30,000 votes in the constituency can only be achieved through hard work and dedication.
“Let’s go forward together and work hard for victory. Let’s do our best this campaign season to deliver our specific votes,” he said.
He promised to put the interest of voters first, saying that he would prioritize the social and economic needs of voters in the provision of basic social services and employment opportunities.
The campaign team consisted of the parliamentary candidate and the constituency president, both co-chairs, along with the party constituency executives as members.
The rest is a six-member team, advisory committee, volunteer committee, new media committee, election and research committee, among others.
