A state funeral will be held for the late former President Jerry John Rawlings on Wednesday, December 23, 2020.
The ceremony will take place at the Independence Square in Accra.
A statement signed and issued by the Head of the Funeral Planning Committee, Ambassador James Victor Gbeho, said that the family was working closely with the government on the “finer details” of the funeral ceremony and would communicate the arrangements in due course.
Former President Rawlings died on Thursday, November 12 at Korle Bu University Hospital.
He was 73 years old.

The family of His Excellency Jerry John Rawlings, in consultation with the Government, agreed that the date of the state funeral of the former president is confirmed for Wednesday, December 23, 2020 in the Independence Square of Accra.
The family is working closely with the Government on the finer details of the funeral ceremony and will communicate the arrangements in due course.
