The ratings of Real Madrid players like Los Blancos end their 15-game unbeaten streak in La Liga with a disappointing loss at home to Cádiz.
Real Madrid looked slow and without ideas against Cádiz in their first game back from the international break. Cádiz were better in all aspects of the game in the first half, and Los Blancos did not recover from falling behind in the first 20 minutes.
Zinedine Zidane continued playing with his starting eleven, this time opting to open Lucas Vázquez on the right and Isco in midfield. Marcelo started in place of Ferland Mendy, while Nacho kept his place, replacing the injured Dani Carvajal and Álvaro Odriozola. This is how the players performed.
Manager
Zinedine Zidane – 4/10
The coach can get a pass if the team loses a match due to a mistake or blur. However, if the team produces the kind of lackluster performance that Los Blancos did against Cádiz, the manager should bear most of the blame.
Zidane will be questioned about his starting eleven. His decision to start Lucas Vázquez ahead of new players like Rodrygo and Marco Asensio was moot. However, the start of a 35-year-old Luka Modric who returned from playing two full matches during the international break finally set the tone for the team.
The Real Madrid manager made four changes at half-time to correct his mistake, and the team improved in the second half. But, his team still seemed slow and out of ideas in the last third.
Goalkeeper
Thibaut Courtois – 7/10
Courtois is the only consistent player at Real Madrid this season. The whites could have lost two or three goals in the first half if it weren’t for the Belgian’s safe hands between the posts. He made three good stops.
