Ivan Rakitic has opened up to the relationship of Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann in Barcelona.
There have been reports claiming that Messi and Griezmann disagree, but former Barcelona midfielder Rakitic has denied the claims. The Frenchman came to Barça from Atlético de Madrid in the summer of 2019 and has struggled to settle at the Camp Nou.
Rakitic has denied reports that the duo are not in a good relationship, but insists the pair get along.
Talking to a Spanish outlet The Polotazosaid the midfielder, “What I saw was that they got along very well. I got along very well with Antoine and Leo. The two drink mate together and spend a lot of time together in the locker room.
“If they both start scoring goals, there will be no more talk, that is the requirement and the expectation of a great team like Barcelona. But I don’t worry, because they are two spectacular guys. I wish everyone the best.
Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger previously claimed that Griezmann is not being used in his correct position due to Messi’s presence.
