PSG star Neymar was transported on a stretcher after sustaining a serious injury to his ankle in injury time during Sunday’s loss at home.
The Brazilian forward screamed in agony after being crushed by Lyon midfielder Thiago Mendes, who was sent off for the challenge.
PSG coach Thomas Tuchel said Neymar will undergo tests on Monday to establish the severity of the injury.
“He’s with the physiotherapist and the doctors and we have to wait for the tests tomorrow (Monday),” he told French broadcaster Telefoot.
PSG fell to third place in Ligue 1 after Tino Kadewere gave the visitors a 1-0 victory at the Parc des Princes on Sunday.
The French champions were never in the mix, surrendering top spot to Lille, who claimed a sensible 2-1 victory at home to Girondins de Bordeaux.
Lille has 29 points from 14 games, leading Lyon, second-ranked on goal difference with PSG, with 28 points after their fourth loss of the season.
Olympique de Marseille are fourth on 27 points with two games in hand, in a tight top five separated by three points.
Following their 5-1 Champions League win against Istanbul Basaksehir, PSG struggled from the start and only had two chances through Alessandro Florenzi.
Kadewere put the visitors in front 10 minutes before the break with a low, angled shot after being set up by Karl Toko-Ekambi.
The Zimbabwean is now Lyon’s third player with five or more goals in Ligue 1 alongside Memphis Depay and Toko-Ekambi.
PSG did not react, prompting Thomas Tuchel to make changes in the 65th minute. Ander Herrera replaced Leandro Paredes, Idrissa Gueye replaced Marco Verratti and Kylian Mbappé replaced the disappointing Angel Di Maria.
It had little effect, however, as Lyon continued to threaten and PSG goalkeeper Keylor Navas was forced to stretch to deflect a powerful half volley from Lucas Paqueta.
PSG stepped up in the final, but Lyon were well organized and held on to a well-deserved victory, the fifth in a row.
Neymar left the pitch on a stretcher seven minutes into injury time due to a possible ankle injury after a poor tackle by Thiago Mendes, who was sent off.
Marseille are fourth on 27 points with two games in hand, in a tight top five separated by three points.
