Following the Supreme Court’s verdict on the 2020 Electoral Petition, which reaffirmed the presidency of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the next major event of national interest will take place on Tuesday, March 9, 2021.

The Speech on the State of the Nation that the president will deliver, the first of the year, will be announced next Tuesday, in line with the constitutional requirement of the Office for the Nation.

It will, as is the fashion, before Parliament, announced the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin.

Subsequently, on Friday, March 12, 2021, the financial statement and budget of the Government of Ghana for the year 2021 would be read.

But due to the inability of Finance Minister-designate Ken Ofori-Atta to return in time from his two-week medical leave in the United States to deliver the statement, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is considering three people.

They are the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia; Trade Minister Alan Kyerematen; and the Minister of Agriculture and Food, Dr. Owusu-Afriyie Akoto.
