President Akufo-Addo inaugurates Ahafo Ano Norte Municipal hospital

President Akufo-Addo opened the 60-bed Ahafo Ano Norte Municipal Hospital in Tepa in the Ashanti region on Wednesday.

The hospital is expected to serve more than 15,000 people throughout the municipality of Ahafo Ano Norte and its surroundings.

It was built by Euroget De-Invest, an Egyptian equity investment firm that built the Wa Regional Hospital in the Upper West Region and the Ga East Municipal Hospital in Kwabenya in the Greater Accra Region.

Speaking at the inauguration, President Akufo-Addo expressed his appreciation to the chiefs and residents of the area for providing the environment conducive to the construction and completion of the project.

It also commissioned the facility managers, in particular the Ghana Health Service, to properly maintain the facility to fulfill the purpose for which it was built.

He said the government will continue to offer human-centered programs and policies to improve lives across the country.

The hospital project’s resident engineer, Khaled Hamed and his team previously led President Akuffo-Addo and his entourage through the newly constructed hospital.

The company is expected to train local personnel in the handling and handling of the equipment at the facility, in addition to providing a warranty of at least two years.

The 60-bed hospital contains 28 medical and non-medical buildings with four operating rooms covering different specialties.

The hospital facilities include a radiology department equipped with ultrasound, echocardiography, and X-ray equipment; a laboratory; a maintenance unit and a central storage area.

The hospital also has a water treatment system; sewage treatment system; medical waste treatment system; a morgue; a kitchen; physiotherapy unit; maternity and child care unit; pharmacy; Laundry room and parking for 120 cars.

It also has a 10-unit staff accommodation to house key staff members.

Euroget De-Invest President and CEO Dr. Said Deraz said that the start-up of the Tepa project was “in fulfillment of our commitment to complete and deliver all of our projects on time.

“The facilities we are delivering today are an ultra-modern hospital built to the highest standards and equipped with state-of-the-art equipment comparable to the best in Africa and beyond.”
