The Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, the Rev. Prof. Joy Mante, has called on Parliament leaders to take disciplinary action against members of the House, who exhibited appalling behavior in the dissolution of the Seventh Parliament and the election of a President of Parliament. .
He said that, as leaders, they must behave in a way that sets a standard for others to follow, and therefore leaders must take steps to redeem the image of the House of Parliament.
The moderator made the call at a Thanksgiving service jointly organized by the state of Akyem Abuakwa and the Presbyterian Church of Ghana and the Kyebi Local Council of Churches to celebrate the re-election and successful inauguration of President Akufo-Addo in the Kyebi Presbyterian College of Education. on Friday.
He said that Ghana had come so far by the grace of God and that all Ghanaians should be thankful for the peace and quiet.
Rev. Prof. Mante said that Ghana not being consumed by the coronavirus pandemic was only by God’s grace and not by our efforts, adding that “we are no better than Europeans and Americans who have the experience and technology both in their favor. “
He praised President Akufo-Addo for his show of trust in God, which led him to organize a national prayer for God’s intervention and said there was no doubt that “this singular act has moved God to act on our behalf.” .
