Chelsea became the third club to reach 2,000 points in the Premier League since the First Division changed its name following a 3-1 victory over Brighton.
Chelsea started their 2020/21 campaign with an away win thanks to a Jorginho penalty before Reece James made it 2-0. Kurt Zouma’s deflected shot helped the Blues to a 3-1 victory with Leandro Trossard scoring the consolation goal for the visitors.
The victory saw Chelsea join Arsenal and Manchester United on the list of teams that have accumulated 2,000 points in the Premier League era.
