The Dodowa police command in the Greater Accra region has launched investigations into the alleged attack on a property developer by some people who claim to be agents of the secretariat of national security.
The attack took place on a plot of land in Dodowa.
The accused, about ten, according to eyewitnesses, tried to kidnap the landowner who had come to ask what they were doing on his property.
“My contractor who worked on the land told me that they had come to ask him to leave the land.
“So I went there in the company of two policemen to find out who they were.
“Suddenly, I saw several men with guns approaching me and the policemen, then the fight started,” the landowner, Alhaji Hajj, told the media.
“While the police were trying to ask who they were, one of them took out his identity card and said that they were national security operatives and their boss had asked them to take me to Blue Gate (national security office) but the police resisted.
“The young men tried to drag me into their car, but the officers rejected them and they left.”
Alhaji Hajj said he was admitted to the hospital for treatment after sustaining injuries as a result of the riot.
