One policeman, Sheriff Kwarteng Abebrese Nantwi, died while on duty at a polling station.

Officer Nantwi, who is said to be an operations detective at the Accra Police Criminal Investigations Department headquarters, was killed in Hwidiem, in the Asutifi Sur constituency in the Ahafo region.

According to a report YEN.com.gh spotted in Adomonline, the deceased fell ill before Election Day, Monday, December 7, 2020.

He was treated at Hwidiem Government Hospital and was later discharged.

Nantwi fell unconscious during the service and was rushed to the facility where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Meanwhile, president Nana Akufo-Addo has cast her vote in the 2020 elections at the Rock of Ages School voting station around 10:00 am.

The president was accompanied by his wife, First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo.

Previously, the vice president and running mate of the New Patriotic Party (PNP), Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, cast his vote in the ongoing 2020 elections.

He joined the process to exercise his franchise at the Kperiga D / A Primary School polling station in Walewale.

In a video seen by YEN.com.gh, was seen along with other people who were going to cast their vote and subsequently went through the process to cast their vote.

Speaking to the media after casting his vote, he encouraged all Ghanaians to demonstrate at his number to exercise their right to vote.

In a related development, the standard-bearer of the Democratic National Congress, NDC, John Dramani Mahama has cast his vote in Bole in the Upper East region.

After casting his vote, he was surrounded by some residents in the center, chanting and cheering the mantra ‘Mahama afa’, indicating that he had won the polls in advance.
