Two armed men reportedly opened fire on the car’s occupants in Bulenga
The Upper West regional communications director for the New Patriotic Party (PNP), Bukari Ali, was shot by unknown gunmen while on his way to Wa.
According to sources close to him at MyNewsGh.com, he was shot at a place called Bulenga.
The MyNewsGh.com source further said that Bukari Ali was driving with a colleague around a hairpin turn when two gunmen appeared from hiding and began shooting at them indiscriminately.
Bukari, who is an expert in driving, managed to escape, but not unscathed as he suffered some gunshot wounds.
He is currently at Upper West Regional Hospital where he is receiving treatment.
There is an increase in insecurity in the country as there have been several attacks of armed robbery in recent times.
Popular with them is the one that caused the death of Mfantseman’s MP, Ekow Hayford.
