Player ratings for the 1-2 loss to Deportivo Alavés

Real Madrid player ratings as Los Blancos drop three points with a 1-2 loss at home in a lackluster performance against Deportivo Alavés.

Real Madrid ended November without a single victory in La Liga following a 1-2 loss to Deportivo Alaves at the Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium. The goals of Lucas Pérez from the point and Joselu on both sides at halftime awarded Alavés all three points. Alavés scored early in the first half after Nacho conceded a penalty after one hand. Individual errors didn’t stop there for the Whites, as Thibaut Courtois gave Joselo a goal with a bad pass from behind.

Zinedine Zidane decided to rotate his squad after starting the same eleven in two straight games. Marcelo, Casemiro and Asensio started, with Ferland Mendy and Martin Odegaard and Carvajal absent due to injury.

This is how the Real Madrid players behaved.

Manager

Zinedine Zidane – 5/10

Zidane cannot be to blame for the way his team conceded the two goals. However, he should be questioned about his player selection and how the players started the first half. His decision to start Luka Modric in his fifth straight game in less than two weeks while Ferland Mendy was off for Marcelo did not work out well for Real Madrid. The whites also started the game loosely and did not enter the game until minutes 25-30.

Goalie

Thibaut Courtois – 5.5 / 10

Thibaut Courtois made a couple of brilliant saves in the game, but also made a disastrous mistake that gave D.Alaves his second goal.
