Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has once again insisted that he wants Lionel Messi to fulfill his contract with Barcelona.
The future of the Barça captain has again been the subject of speculation this week after his comments that he is “tired of always being the problem at Barcelona.
Guardiola’s decision to extend his contract at City has also fueled more Messi rumors, but the former Barça boss is adamant that he wants the Argentine to stay where he is.
“Lionel Messi is a Barcelona player,” he said.
“If you ask me my opinion as a person, I have great thanks for what Barcelona has done for me. In the academy as a footballer and later as a coach, he gave me absolutely everything.
“What I want is[for him] to finish his career there. I would love it, I would wish it. That’s what I said, I don’t know how many times maybe a thousand times.
“As a Barcelona fan, I would like Leo to end up there. But this year the contract ends and I don’t know what will happen in his mind. Right now he is a Barcelona player and the transfer market will be in June and July ”.

It is not yet known what Messi’s thoughts are regarding his future. Of course, he will be a free agent next summer, although the club will bring in a new president in January, who will take it upon himself to convince Messi to stay and watch his career at the Camp Nou.
