Paul Pogba’s Future Announced by Mino Raiola Was ‘Shameful’, Criticizes Dimitar Berbatov – Ghana Latest Football News, Live Score, Results

Former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov has criticized Paul Pogba and branded his latest incident with his agent Mino Raiola as “disgraceful”.

On the eve of United’s must-see Champions League clash at RB Leipzig on Tuesday, their preparations were shaken when Raiola declared that his client’s future at the club was “over”.

Raiola’s damning comments overshadowed United’s readiness for the game, which ended up losing 3-2 in Germany.

Berbatov has counted on the pair about the timing of the comments and believes it had a detrimental effect on their exit from the group stage.

“Mino Raiola’s comments on Paul Pogba’s discontent were very poorly timed, just before a massive match in the Champions League,” he told Betfair.

“That is not ideal and I am sure it would have been felt in the dressing room before the game.

“I don’t think Pogba would have known what Raiola was about to say, which is embarrassing for the player. At the end of the day, the agent is working for the player, so the agent must do what the player tells them, no matter who you are, you work for the player.

“It was the wrong way of doing things, it created a huge fuss that was totally unnecessary before a match. On the other hand, if Pogba told his agent to say those things, then it is obvious that something is not quite right.

“Perhaps he has already had conversations with the people of the club about his situation, but whatever the case, if he is not happy he has to say it, not his agent and until he says it, we will never know.”

While sympathetic to Pogba’s situation, Berbatov also substantially blamed his gate, saying that if he left, then his absence would not feel very good at Old Trafford.

‘I can understand if Paul is not happy, I bet he is not because he is not playing, it is obvious, when he enters as a substitute and has very little playing time he will not be happy,’ the two-time continued the Premier League winner.

If this situation continues, I think it is better that they part because, in the last matches, Solskjaer’s lack of confidence in Pogba has been clear.

“I don’t think it’s a case of changing teams and resting it, I don’t think Pogba is in good shape.

At the same time, we have to keep in mind that he will return to the team after testing positive for coronavirus, so this could also be a factor. But if he’s really unhappy and he’s still out of the starting eleven, I think he better move on.

“I still think that Pogba is a great player and, like any great player, it is normal to have ups and downs. But with him, there have been more lows than highs this season and there are different factors at play as to why this is the case.

“If he’s at his best and at his best, then United will miss him, but if he continues in the way he is, he will not be lost at Old Trafford.”
