Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes impress for Manchester United against Sheffield United
Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes were in their prime when Manchester United returned once again, this time to defeat Sheffield United.
Both players were in their element as United moved five points off the top. With a game in hand, we could find ourselves behind only Liverpool, provided we secure all three points.
The duo combined well to set up Marcus Rashford for United’s third on the night. The goal was ultimately decisive after David McGoldrick scored a goal to Sheffield at the end.
Earlier this season it was suggested that Pogba was not comfortable with Fernandes’ preeminent position at the club. (h / t the mirror)
There was little evidence of disgust on the field yesterday as the two combined well on the field in what was an impressive attacking performance.
The two goals conceded are cause for concern, but with our midfielder duo impressing, that’s one less thing to worry about going forward.
With the games rapidly developing into the holiday season, the winning momentum will help us negotiate a potentially difficult month.

That front line coupled with pogba and fernandes is arguably the best in the league.
