Dr. Patrick Awuah, founder and president of Ghana’s fast-growing tertiary institution, Ashesi University, has endorsed the government’s free dual-track upper secondary education (SHS) system.
A report from peacefmonline.com indicates that Patrick made this disclosure in a recent meeting where he was speaking.
According to Dr. Patrick Awuah, the free two-way SHS is a laudable policy of the Akufo-Addo-led government that should be embraced by all Ghanaians.

It is further claimed that the founder of Ashesi University believes the policy was simply not well explained to the people of Ghana, which is why it has received backlash from many people.
The free two-way SHS system is a smart idea and should be embraced by all, but I think it has not been communicated very well to Ghanaians, ”said Dr. Awuah.
Dr. Patrick Awuah has a BA in Engineering and Economics from Swarthmore College; an MBA from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business; and honorary doctorates from Swarthmore College, Babson College and the University of Waterloo

Meanwhile, George Ameyaw, a student at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), who supported himself through school with his aboboya / okada business, graduated as the top student.
In an interview with YEN.com.gh, the man confirmed that he has a GPA of 3.96, the highest in the Faculty of Environmental Sciences and Education.
George studied BSc Integrated Science Education on the UEW-Mampong campus in the College of Agricultural Education of the respected university.
His journey to becoming an aboboya rider began when George was at level 200 and his study license salary was reduced.
