The Reverend Dr. Vivian Balasu-Addo, Ho East Moderator of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana, has asked Church ministers to emulate the lifestyle of the late Most Reverend Dr. Seth Senyo Agidi, former Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church.
She said Dr. Agidi’s humility, generosity, fear of God, care and self-denial were worth emulating.
The Rev. Dr. Balasu-Addo said this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency on the sidelines of the late Moderator’s burial service at the Church’s Missionary Cemetery in Ho over the weekend.
She said the late moderator was passionate about the work of God and the Church.
“He devoted his time, energy and comfort to the work of God and the growth of the Church,” he said.
The presbytery moderator counseled pastors to turn to God for solutions to their problems and direction rather than the world.
“Live without reproach and be a role model for the flock you herd,” he warned.
The mortal remains of the late Moderator were buried in the Ho Kpodzi Missionary Cemetery after the funeral.
He died at Ho University Hospital on October 10 last year after a brief illness.
The late Moderator, 65, was ordained a Church Minister after completing a three-year ministerial training at Trinity Theological Seminary.
He served in various positions in the church prior to his election in August 2014 and his incorporation into office on January 11, 2015 as the 13th Moderator of the church’s General Assembly.
He was survived by his wife, Ms. Madeleine Akpene Kadji-Agidi, and four adult children.
The Rev. Dr. Lieutenant Colonel (Rtd) Bliss Divine Agbeko, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church, in a sermon said that the storms in the life of man were inevitable “but our Jesus is the master of the storm.”
He said that one could fast and pray, but the answer was in God and added that “the death of a man of God is not the cessation of the power of God.”
The burial service, which was broadcast live on Ghana Television, was attended by Dr. Archibald Letsa, Volta Regional Minister, Mr. Samuel Ampofo, President of the National Democratic Congress, Parliamentarians, heads or representatives of sister Churches of Ghana and Togo and traditional rulers, among others.
