West Akim Municipal Director of the National Civic Education Commission (NCCE), Ms Modesta Annie Sapaty, says that parliamentary candidates are not responsible for the development projects taken on by many Ghanaians.

He explained that the parliamentary candidates were only representatives of the various constituencies and their job was to help make decisions for the benefit of their constituencies.

Adding that the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies were responsible for development projects.

The NCCE director made the remarks at a municipal meeting organized by the Justice and Peace Commission in collaboration with NCCE in Asamankese.

According to her, due to ignorance, many people unjustly accuse parliamentary candidates of not building infrastructure projects.

He advised the public to hold the Assemblies and not the parliamentarians accountable for community development.

The Municipal Chief Executive Officer (MCE) for Lower West Akim, Mr. Seth Oduro-Boadu, urged the public to stay away from violence and keep the peace before, during and after the December 7 elections.
