Pablo Escobar’s nephew said he found £ 14 million in cash hidden in the wall of one of the infamous drug lord’s homes.

Nicolás Escobar told Colombian media that “a vision” inspired him to look for the money in his apartment in the city of Medellín, where he has lived for five years.

He said it was not the first time he had discovered a treasure trove of cash that his uncle had hidden decades earlier from authorities.

However, local media said the bills that were decades old were now worthless.

Escobar, who was killed in a 1993 police shooting, was believed to be the seventh richest person on the planet at the peak of his drug trafficking career and rumors of his hidden fortunes have circulated in Medellín since his death.

Nicolás Escobar told Colombian television network Red + Noticias that he also found a typewriter, satellite phones, a gold pen, a camera and a roll of film that has yet to be revealed.

“Every time I sat in the dining room and looked out into the parking lot, I would see a man walking in and out,” he said.
