Ozil, outcast from Arsenal, wants to be able to help the gunners in a difficult period

Mesut Ozil has admitted that it is a difficult and frustrating time for him at Arsenal, but is hopeful that the results will improve for the club.

The former Germany international has fallen completely out of favor in the Emirates, and his name is not on their list of Premier League teams.

The midfielder’s most recent appearance for the club, which could turn out to be his last, was in a 1-0 win over West Ham on 7 March.

It has been speculated that Ozil could find a route out of the club in January, otherwise it is highly likely that he will come out with a free transfer next summer.

Although he has been on the sidelines, Ozil has been active on social media and held a question and answer session on Twitter on Wednesday night.

They asked him if he was happy at Arsenal, to which answered: “It’s a very difficult time for everyone at the club, not just me.

“The situation is frustrating for everyone.

“Of course I wish I could help the team especially right now, but as long as I don’t have the opportunity, I just hope we get better results very soon again.”

The “tough time” is in reference to the home front’s winless streak dating back to November 1, and has seen Arsenal slide into the relegation places.

The Gunners are sitting 15th on the table, just four points above the drop zone.

West Brom manager Sam Allardyce said Wednesday that Arsenal were relegation opponents.

Gunners coach Mikel Arteta has offered little hope of Ozil returning to the fold anytime soon, but he has that option in January, when he can make changes to his Premier League squad.

Arteta is the third person to manage the Gunners after the departure of Arsene Wenger.

The Frenchman brought Ozil to Arsenal from Real Madrid, and the 32-year-old has described Wenger as a father figure.

“He was really a fantastic coach, yes”, Ozil wrote. “And also as a father figure to me and many other players.

“I think a lot of people around Arsenal really miss him.”
