The presidential candidate of the Popular Convention Party (CPP), Ivor Kobina Greenstreet, has stated that the slogan of “electric shock” that the party adopted for the December 7 elections is not a trick.
According to him, unless voters give the NDC and NPP an “electric shock” by voting for the CPP, things in the country will remain the same.
In a now-viral video, CPP standard-bearer Mr. Greenstreet is seen chanting his “electric shock” slogan with some party members.
Speaking at the Citi Breakfast Show on Thursday, November 26, 2020, Greenstreet stated that Ghanaians have made many complaints about the two main political parties over the years, seeing no change in recent years under the leadership of the New Patriotic Party and Democratic National Congress.
“We keep hearing Ghanaians complain that they are tired of NPP and NDC because all they see is argumentation, lack of improvement in lives, lack of opportunities for their children to obtain employment, great difficulty in accessing social assistance and the cost and quality of it. And so many questions will be asked when they see two great political parties praising themselves and arguing about the so-called infrastructure when in their own circumstances they do not see them.
“Therefore, that commotion is not just a trick, yes, we have caught people’s attention, but the simple reality is unless [Ghanaians] giving the nuclear power plant and the NDC the ‘electric shock’, nothing will change and that status quo will continue ”, he added.
