The lawyer for the driver of the Deputy Secretary General of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Otokunor, the lawyer Victor Kojogah Adawudu has denounced that the National Bureau of Investigation is torturing his client.
According to him, he collected information that his client had been picked up by NIB officials for reasons yet to be disclosed.
However, when he went to the NIB office, he was told that the driver had been transferred to Kawukudi and was with an NIB official whose identity could not be revealed.
Upon arriving at Kawukudi, attorney Adawudu said the client was denied access on the grounds that the NIB officer in question was not available at the time.
Lawyer Adawudu, who was speaking to TV3 in an interview monitored by MyNewsGh.com, said that “my source of information says that they are torturing him to admit things that he should not and that is what they are doing. When they went to the house, my information is that they took the teaser and that’s what they do. “
Attorney Adawudu is surprised that the same government that is calling for peace to prevail in the country is the same government that intimidates people belonging to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He indicated that those who belong to the moral society are not looking at the issues either and are insisting that the NDC go to court.
He indicated that so far, he has not been told what is the reason why he was detained by the NIB because the NIB authorities have been silent.
