The year 2020 will go down in history as one of the most challenging years the world has ever witnessed.
This is due to the devastating ravages caused by the new Coronavirus along with the financial crisis that companies had to deal with and the millions of lost jobs.
Ghana had its fair share of the global COVID-19 crisis, where the government was even forced to provide financial relief and somehow counter job losses.
In the wake of these crises, some companies still managed to find a reason to support the vulnerable and poor in Ghanaian society.
One such group is Osafric Ventures and Osafric Mining and Construction Company, which helped prevent the spread of COVID-19 by conducting COVID-19 support interventions during peak infections.
The company run by its Founder, Oscar Adu Sarfo, has once again embarked on a gesture of donation by approaching the Nsawam prisons in Ghana during the Christmas celebrations.
Osafric Ventures and Osafric Mining and Construction Company have presented items worth GHC 20,000.00 to Nsawam prisons. Items included food (rice, beans, yams, drinks, cooking oil, etc.), herbicides, anti-snakes, cutlasses, air conditioning for the personnel office.
Donations were received by correctional officers led by DSP James Afoakwa (Personnel Officer).
Officials thanked Osafric Ventures Ltd. for the donation at this crucial time as COVID-19 has brought the world to a standstill.
In addition, they urged the general public and businesses to come to their aid.
According to Mr. Adu Sarfo, their company heeded their call and they agreed with them because their educational complex has students who are performing excellently academically with good results at WASCE and first level students at the tertiary level.
There were other prisoners who have undergone professional training and have been successful. Therefore, they need to improve their educational complex facilities such as library books, ICT and other learning materials.
“Osafric Ventures Ltd’s visit has taught us that many people transform their lives while in prison and not all those in prison are criminals, but through circumstance,” stated DSP James Afoakwa.
In a comment, Mr. Adu Sarfo explained that Osafric Ventures Ltd.’s visit to the prisons was not one of a show but to encourage people and companies to remember the less privileged and needy whose voices cannot be heard in times and moments. seasons like this.
“We are very proud to help not only the vulnerable in our society, but also as part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of the company. The young Osafric employees who accompanied the team say they have learned many lessons and that they will have a positive impact on how they live their lives when they leave the site. ”
