The Ghana Football Association has mandated that only licensed referees and match commissioners be used in any GFA sanctioned match or competition.

Competitive or sanctioned match referees must have completed and submitted the GFA referee license form and must have been duly accepted as licensed referees in the GFA system, including the Competition Management System (CMS).

In the last season, the GFA started the licensing process, in which the Premier League, Division One League and Women’s Premier League referees and assistant referees were successfully licensed.

This season, the process will conclude with the licensing of all officials at the regional and district levels by the GFA before they officiate in the next lower leagues.

License forms were issued to all regional soccer associations for umpires officiating games in Division Two, Division Three, Division One Women and Division Two Women and in the youth leagues (U17, U15 and U13) to request the license of the GFA.

The Match Commissioners will also begin their licensing process this week in their training course, which will take place on Friday at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence in Prampram.

All regional football associations have been duly informed by the GFA to strictly comply with the directive.

Accordingly, only GFA authorized referees and match commissioners will officiate at GFA competitions at all levels and in any GFA sanctioned or approved match, as provided, in accordance with FIFA regulations and the GFA.
