Ole Gunnar Solskjaer smashes the myth of being tactically inappropriate

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has had his fair share of criticism and one of his biggest arguments is that he is not good enough as a coach.

Often what they mean is his supposed lack of knowledge or tactics and how he is smarter than rival managers.

However, the statistics below suggest that that is far from the truth and shows that Solskjaer deserves more credit than most give him.

United are currently in second place with a game in hand over leader and rival Liverpool and it is a credit to him that he managed to lead the team there after a poor start to the season.

Whether or not he can lead this team to the promised land remains to be seen, but he has certainly done a good job so far.

Given the stats above, Solskjaer is not only performing well in his role, but he has also shown that he is tactically as good as anyone in the league.

The hope is that he can continue to grow and begin to dominate the league in the way that many at United want to see.

The competition for Solskjaer’s position has certainly waned lately and he should therefore feel more secure in his coaching role.
