The leadership of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) and its Allied Associations have asked members to remain calm while communicating with the Government about their conditions of service.

A statement jointly signed by Ms. Perpetual Ofori-Ampofo, President of GRNMA and Mr. David Tenkorang Twum, Secretary General of GRNMA, said that the negotiation meeting of the terms of service held on September 3, 2020 was not conclusive .

By September 17, 2020, he said, a government team was expected to further involve GRNMA and its allied associations to conclude discussions on non-core category 2 and 3 allocations.

“We have expressed our greatest displeasure at the positional bargaining method that the employer (government) is adopting contrary to the requirements of article 97 of the 2003 Labor Law (Law 651),” the statement said.

Allied Associations included Ghana Certified Registered Anesthetists, the Ghana Medical Assistants Association, the Ghana Community Health Nurses Association and the Ghana Registered Midwives Association.
