NSMQ 2020: Kumasi Academy qualifies for the semi-finals after defeating the Armed Forces, Apam SHS

The Kumasi Academy has qualified for the semifinal stage of the National Science and Mathematics Exam (NSMQ) after brilliantly dominating its colleagues from the Higher Technical School of the Armed Forces (AFSHTS) and the Apam Higher School (ASHS) .

The Armed Forces played a great game in Round 1 to win a tie with the Kumasi Academy.

They each scored 17 points, 4 points above Apam SHS, which came in with 13 points.

However, representatives from the Ashanti region-based school Benjamin Harris Yeboah and Emmanuel Osei outscored their opponents in the later rounds of the quarterfinal contest.

Round 3’s ‘Problem of the Day’ proved a difficult feat for Apam SHS, who did not answer any of the questions correctly, earning zero points.

However, the Kumasi Academy and the SHTS of the Armed Forces accumulated 4 points each.

Apam SHS improved their game to secure 10 points in Round 4.

The demanding round of True or False response took the Central Region school to 22 points, with Kumasi Academy in a clear lead with 41 points and the Armed Forces SHTS in second place with 30 points.

Kumaca sealed his victory at the end of the contest with 47 points, leaving the Armed Forces SHTS and Apam SHS with 33 and 25 points respectively.
